Transportation in Leipzig

You can get around Leipzig by tram, S-Bahn and bus.

Timetables

The S-Bahn usually runs at 30-minute intervals and trams and buses at 10-minute intervals. Fewer trains and buses run at night. Night buses run at night from the central station stop to all areas of the city (departure 1:11, 2:22, 3:33 AM; additional departures on Fridays and Saturdays).

Route network

You can reach a stop anywhere in Leipzig in just a few minutes.

All trams travel into the city centre. Most buses stop right at the central station.

Tickets

You must board buses (except lines 60, 70, 80 and 90) at the front and show the driver your ticket. There are regular ticket checks on all vehicles. If you are unable to show a valid ticket, you will have to pay a €60 fine and your details will be passed on to the police.
